32 Looks Good on You

The hubs had a birthday on Saturday. Through a lot of luck and an equal amount of perseverance, we ended up in the city with two of our faves, snarfing down BBQ at Famous Dave's, and mouths fully agape at Wintuk.

Unfortunately, we did not end up with my camera. Scary iPhone photos to follow:

The birthday boy with his horribly angled wife. Doesn't look a day older than 31 (him. I am still holding on to my 20s, thank you very much).

The hot chicks

The two faves.

The finale.
The show was fantastic. The company fabulous.
Not a bad way to commemorate one's day of birth.

With all those goings ons, Allen's birthday spilled onto Sunday as well. Lucky man.
Doesn't he look like he loves me? Good thing. Because not documented is the fact that a couple days prior we celebrated 9 years of wedded bliss.
There is so much to love about this man.
The pleased party goers.
Happy Birthday handsome man!! You are a hottie with a naughty body. And I would know.
(Not pictured but presence noted: the photographer. Thanks Mr. Hill.)

Halloween 2010

To begin:
I think Halloween should be on Sunday every year. There is something fully enjoyable about staying comfy and cozy in my jammies while the kids happily hand out candy to the gremlins.
Even while remaining home bound last night, Halloween still managed to occupy three of my days.

Beginning on Thursday. With Linley's Pre-K class parade and party.
She elected to be Ariel this year. Not that she has ever seen The Little Mermaid. Because she hasn't. But she determined Ariel had the prettiest princess dress, and she needed to own it.
Friday was Ryder's First Grade Class presentation and party. Where we were all stuffed like sausages in the gym. Ryder finally decided to take a break from superherodom and embraced spookiness. With a giant pumpkin head. Can you spot him?

Tessa had a full blown meltdown at Ryder's party. It was sexy and not at all embarrassing.
Speaking of sexy. Can I get a big fat huge pat on the back for recycling a costume?? Thank you Linley for not destroying your skunk from years past. Unfortunately, that is the only costume to survive years of dress-ups. I digress. Miss Tessa, in her full, stank glory.
Then Saturday. The day of mass Trick-or-Treating in downtown Summit. We went with a couple of friends, which made for an even more enjoyable experience.
We herded (read: Allen herded while I chit chatted) the kids in and out of the shops, filled their pumpkins with candy, then headed home for pizza, movies and games. All in all, not a bad way to spend a day.
And now it's over. I excitedly woke up this morning and took down all the Halloween decor while munching on Butterfingers. Fabulous!

PS
We actually carved pumpkins this year. Not the huge gorgeous ones that we bought, because those rotted (apparently you can't stick pumpkins next to heating vents. Maybe someone should have shared that information with me prior to grabbing said pumpkins to place on the table to begin carving experience only to realize my hands were sinking into a mass of fuzzy goo). So, we used our little pumpkins that we got at the pumpkin patch. Which was fairly disastrous. Since eyes and a nose and a mouth DO NOT fit on a pumpkin that size. Your pumpkin will collapse, and you will have to start over. Then the little pumpkins will rot within three days. And you will be so frustrated with the entire experience, you fail to take one single picture of this fantastic event.
So in case you were wondering, yes, we carved pumpkins this year. And they were awesome. But, you'll just have to take my word for it.
