I'm Like the Ringleader, I Call the Shots

Friday we took the kids to the Big Apple Circus. The night was truly magical. It is a little one ring circus where no one is more than 50 feet from the stage. Allen and I enjoyed the show, but the best part was certainly the look on our kids' faces. Their eyes sparkled, completely enchanted by the experience. I have never seen anything like it. They are still talking about it. With complete excitement. A fabulous night had by all.

Yeah, so we didn't get any pictures of the actual circus. Remember the part where we, the parents, were mesmerized by our kids faces.?? No time to pull out a camera. Woops.

It is snowing outside, and sticking.  God is seriously cracking up at me right now.

Could it Be??

1. 63 Degrees today
2.  Green sprouting out of my flower beds (which PS, were there long before we moved here)
3.  Happiness all around this household

Do I dare say it??  I won't, because I will jinx it and it will snow tomorrow.  But, just the thought that a new, blessed season could be on it's way...sweet, sweet wonderfulness.

Pregnant (with Sexy Man) in Paradise

o now that we have discussed our surroundings, I shall illustrate the awesomeness of this babymoon, again, with pictures, of ourselves.

We spent one afternoon at Mercado 28 in Cancun.  Tons of fun little local booths.  Picked up a couple things for the kids and headed back.  We were always anxious to get back to our heaven.

Outside our patio.  Nothing really to show here, except the monstrosity that is my tummy.
Ignore the face.  Stare at the belly.
Another day we took a ferry to Isla Mujeres, an island off of Cancun.  Here we lounged on the beach, obviously, and further indulged ourselves with facials and massages.  Honestly, I think massages are the answer to world peace.  Obama, call me.

Tell me that boy doesn't look pleased??

Okay, so this picture below is only included because I think I look thinnish.  After the above pictures, I am allowed this moment of necessary vanity.

So perfect.  So refreshing.  So romantic.  So fulfilling on every possible level.  Exactly what I dreamed and hoped this vacation would be, times a thousand.
Huge, huge, huge thank you to my mom and dad and Megan for traipsing all the way up to here to watch our kids.  They may have been in as much heaven as we were.  You guys are the best.  We love you and owe you the world.  But, you already knew that.  And we have been owing you the world for a while now.  We're in a recession.  What can I say??

Pampered in Paradise

We just returned from our trip to Cancun, where we stayed at the Excellence Playa Mujeres.  Holy heaven.  I have never been so pampered.  Never been surrounded by such beauty.  Never eaten so much food (okay, well, maybe I have done that).  Those five days were truly dreamy.
But, I will let the pictures speak for themselves (with my narrative, of course).

Half of our room.  Gorgeous.  Comfortable. Huge.  Clean.  Chocolates, mood lighting, soft music, and turn-down service nightly.  A fabulously stocked mini-bar (which the poor guy was constantly restocking.  Oops.  We maybe have a thing for Snickers).
The other half of our room.  Complete with a two-person jacuzzi tub that opened to the outdoors and a full bed on the patio to lounge on...both of which were taken expert advantage of.  No seriously, we are professional loungers and tubbers.
The pretty bathroom.  Not pictured, the two-person shower.  Huge.  I could have slept in there.
Aforementioned tub.  Tell me that doesn't speak dreamy??
Our view from our patio.  We were just steps away from the lazy river and spa.  Also pleasant was our very own lawn chairs for sunning ourselves when we felt it too much effort to walk to a pool or beach.
Outside the main lobby.  Are you getting the gorgeous picture yet?
The main pool at one of the two outdoor restaurants.  Yummy.  No really.  One of our best meals was had at The Lobster House...where all they served, was, surprisingly, lobster.  I salivate at the thought.
Luxurious lounging.  If you look closely, you can see me snoozing on the bed hammock thingie (which we aptly named bammocks) behind the real hammocks.
Every night was a show.  Honestly, most of them were mediocre so we would duck out and get some fried ice cream from the Asian restaurant.  But the last night we were there, they did a fire show, which was pretty awesome.  I mean, hello, fire??
Some of the grounds, on our way to dinner.  These people were meticulous about their clean.  We were beyond impressed.

So I am thinking, when I die and go to the Celestial Kingdom (obviously, where else), it will look a little something like the Excellence.

25 Weeks

Super Saturday

Yesterday we played with some of our fabulous friends in Jersey City. They invited us to tag along with them at the Liberty Science Center. Every time I go I am amazed at its coolness. I could spend hours there all by myself, completely mesmerized. But I am dork, so this makes sense. Luckily, my children can also spend hours there, completely mesmerized, which is what makes this place so phenomenal....it caters to all ages of dorkiness!
Here is Ryder, nearing completion of his homemade "town." He didn't do so well. Too much reliance on oil and gas. Shame, shame young man. Obviously he hasn't been to BYU and thus fully indoctrinated into the goodness of going nuclear. Lucky for the world, his mother and father have.
Here is Linley, who naturally gravitated to the machine where she could stare at herself.

After we headed back to the Christensen's home for some fabulous homemade pizza.  My tummy still thanks you.
You guys are rad.  Thanks so much for such a perfect Saturday!!

PS
It is snowing as I am posting this.  Did someone not get the memo that it is March????
