2016 Family Reunion: Day 4

Grandma and Grandpa Wallace and Grant came up from Georgia to spend a day with the boys, so our last full day in Tennessee was spent just as our family of 6.
Which, oddly, felt small.

We took to exploring an entirely different type of mountain on this day: Ober Gatlinburg.

We started with the the mountain coaster.
Tess and I in back, Allen and Eden up front.

All was going good and fine until seconds after I took this shot. Without any warning or indication, Tess and I came to a sudden scary stop. One of our wheels unclamped off the track. We had to be hammered back on. While sideways. Tess was whiplashed and traumatized. I spent the day swallowing several painkillers.

We were scared out of minds, but we were not stopping.
Because next up was the alpine slide.
Possibly the greatest highlight was taking the lift to our destination.
The slide was not without it's own hiccup.  We were delayed taking off because a family of bears had decided to take residency halfway down the mountain.
But, eventually, we made it to the bottom!!

After taking two {somewhat worrisome} different modes of transportation down the mountain, it was time for some carefree fun.
Although at this point, my confidence in the safety of this place was, well, nonexistent.
(Especially after an employee casually mentioned to Allen they had to remove their bungee jump after a *couple* unfortunate accidents!?!?)

But, what harm could be done on this apparatus???
Tess and Zoe about to get soaked!!
All the little ladies + the Queen lady (who may or may not have requested the ride stop so she could get off before she lost her lunch.  Props to even attempting that pukefest.).
 Ryder and Jacob.
This day was definitely one for the memory books!
And the chiropractor.

Other awesome miscellaneous items worth noting:
The cabin's hot tub.
Where several little people could be found at any hour of the day.
 The resort's pool.
 The post bedtime evening festivities.
And in a shocking twist: the Mexican food.
I ate it all.  Without any issue.

It was such a pleasure to spend time together for a happy occasion.  It's been a long time, and it felt real good.
Nothing beats the crazy and the chaos of cousins all together under one roof.
Honestly, not one thing.
Well, unless, maybe the crazy and chaos of cousins on a tropical island...
