Simmering Summer

Allen up and left us yesterday, all giddy to start a new chapter in his employment life. All I can say is, it really sucks actually having to work for a paycheck.
We are all pretty depressed in this household about having daddy so far away. So, we have immersed ourselves in busyness.
Our days have included:
-throwing my iphone against the wall while sort of calmly speaking to Verizon (don't believe this deserves making my list? you have no idea how many hours I have spent on the phone with the morons this month)
- swimming at our fab friend's pool
- paying the plumber to make the kid's bathtub batheable
- painting said bathroom
- miraculously scrounging up enough food to provide a suitable dinner for the husband after his first day back from slavery
-Playing at the beach (and pleasantly reaffirming that I can handle these three children and a shlepful of crap all by my lonesome. Okay, so that is only partly true since I did need to enlist Brittany for her spectacular marathon worthy muscles)
- Post-beach errands (nothing beats a sandy, hair way-too-windblown, still-sopping-wet-in-my-suit Erica at Home Depot)
-bathing the kids in their mostly brand new tub (the capstone of all this fabulous fun)

Sadly not making the list: grocery shopping or laundry. I am drowning in a sea of dirty clothes while staring into barren cupboards. Reality is officially back, and I am not a fan.

And here are some quick clips from Tess right before bed tonight. I am suffering severe and mixed emotions regarding these shenanigans.
