Zoo Lights

The day after Thanksgiving/Black Friday/my Birthday, we decided to attempt a festive evening.
We loaded up the cousins and the kids and headed to Turtle Back Zoo.
 It was freezing.
We strolled very quickly through the sights.
Very, very quickly.
The zoo was running the train that night, a first for us.  It seemed like a great idea.  Until our faces froze off.  Our poor Texas family.  I don't think they knew what hit them.
Actually, I don't think I knew what hit me.
She was the biggest trooper of them all.
You would have thought these two had never fought in their lives.  They caught the Christmas spirit hard.  It was beautiful.  And short-lived.
Santa, however, was a total creepster. Sad face.
The carousel provided a much needed warming session.
Not the warmest way to kick off the season of yule logs and peppermint, but special nonetheless.  Especially because we got to share it family members we don't get to spend nearly enough time with!!
Sam and Tiffany, won't you spend all the holidays with us?!?
